Crafted from two unique McLaren Vale vineyards as our celebration of Grenache. This wine is made up of 67% Grenache bush vines planted in 1947, growing in deep sand just north of the McLaren Vale township. The remaining 33% Grenache fruit was planted in 1990 on single-wire trellised vines, growing on the sandy slopes of Stump Hill on the western edge of the McLaren Vale township. The result is an aromatic, moreish and savoury wine which will keep you coming back for more.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Medium deep, dark cherry. Lifting fragrant aromas of strawberry, raspberry jujube, olive spice, lavender, cinnamon and star anise. Flavours of rich strawberry, dark cherry, pomegranate and chocolate earth flow through the medium weight palate. Fine tannins and natural acidity focus the fruit into the moreish, savoury finish.
Vineyard Notes
2023 summer was very cool with regular rain events. This cool weather continued into harvest allowing fruit to be picked at optimum ripeness and plenty of time for extra care in the winery. This allowed for a perfect, bright red colour and great fruit forward flavours for this grenache.

Winemaker Notes
Crafted from two unique McLaren Vale vineyards as our celebration of Grenache. 67% hand-picked fruit from Grenache bush vines planted in 1947 and growing in deep sand just north of the McLaren Vale township. Fruit is destemmed to open fermenters, pumped over and cooled regularly to maintain a steady fermentation on skins for 6 days, capturing the perfumed elegance of this block. Matured in well-seasoned French oak and in tank for 7 months prior to blending. The remaining 33% is sourced from fruit grown on single-wire trellised vines, growing on the sandy slopes of Stump Hill on the western edge of the McLaren Vale township and planted in 1990. Pumped over and fermented at a warmer temperature to maintain a steady fermentation on skins for 8 days, capturing the darker fruit and textured structural elements of this block. Matured in well-seasoned oak for 7 months.
Food Pairing Notes
Grenache pairs well with spicy food, curries, stews, or roasted meats as it often balances these rich meals out. Match with an Eggplant, tomato and pine nut roast, a roast snapper with crispy sage breadcrumbs or a banh mi roll. Consider serving slightly chilled in summer by placing in the fridge for 30 minutes before opening.
Other Notes
The region has a Mediterranean climate with wet winters, dry summers and plenty of sunshine. The proximity to St Vincent Gulf, coincidentally named after the patron saint of winemakers, benefits fruit quality with warmer spring and autumn conditions and cooler summers. McLaren Vale is renowned as a premium wine region of great beauty that consistently produces high quality, richly flavoured wines.
